The Barrel Test is a trusted method of oral fluid testing for detection of drugs of abuse. The test swab becomes soft in the mouth when enough sample has been collected. The compact barrel design allows for quick wicking of the testing strips once the device is activated.

How the Barrel Test Works:

Nil by mouth 10 minutes prior to testing.

Step 2

Check expiry, remove from pouch, and use within the hour.

Step 3

Remove the swab handle from the barrel and place in the mouth.

Step 4

Feed oral fluid into the swab until it becomes soft, spongy and saturated.

Screw the swab head back into the barrel and leave the device upright on a level surface.

Step 6

Step 6

Remove the label to reveal results. Negative results can be interpreted after 5 minutes, positives after 10 minutes.
